The hardcore Lexus RC F Track Edition will make its debut at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show
The new Lexus RC F Track Edition has been teased with a shot of its rear wing. We’ll see the rest of the BMW M4 rival at the Detroit Motor Show in January, the Japanese firm has announced.
The latest teaser shot shows a fixed carbon fibre rear wing, but little else. Spy shots from earlier in the year add a little more detail, showing the RC F Track Edition’s reshaped front bumper, updated diffuser and deeper side-skirts.

The model is also likely to draw heavily from Lexus’ GT3 racecar, allowing the brand to filter its motorsport know-how into its road cars.

The new RC F Track Edition is likely to be the fruits of the RC-F GT concept that was first displayed at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The concept was over 360kg lighter than the regular RC F and, while it’s unlikely that we’ll see that level of weight reduction in the road car, we expect to see a stripped-out cabin, lightweight seats and liberal use of carbon fibre.
Under the bonnet the RC F Track Edition is expected to make use of Lexus’ 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine and eight-speed automatic gearbox. Power is likely to be in excess of the RC F’s 470bhp output.
