Shooting brake variant of latest Ceed will be revealed next month ahead of full public showing in Paris
Kia has confirmed that a fresh member of the all-new Ceed line-up will be revealed on 13 September, with a public debut scheduled for the Paris Motor Show in early October.
Previewed in a teaser sketch, the new Kia Proceed will be a five-door shooting brake version of the new Ceed, trading away some of the Ceed Sportswagon for a bit more style. It will be offered in Europe exclusively.

Based on the Proceed concept displayed at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, it is now confirmed the shooting brake will carry over the concept’s name. The Proceed name was previously used for the hot version of the old three-door car.
The new Proceed will arrive with a performance-based GT model; it’s likely that Kia will fit a tuned version of its 1.6-litre turbo engine, developing 200bhp. However, Kia bosses have previously suggested that their hot GT models will not be as focused as sister brand Hyundai’s N-badged cars.
The rest of the Proceed range will be littered with regular petrol and diesel engines to cater for buyers who are more concerned about running costs, sharing engines with the regular Ceed. That means a refreshed version of Kia’s turbocharged 1.0-litre unit, developing 118bhp, will line-up alongside a new 1.4-litre 138bhp petrol and a more basic 98bhp 1.4-litre engine.
Next year, the Ceed offering is expected to expand even further to include an SUV that will sit between the Stonic and Sportage.
