Exterior and interior pictures show major overhaul for the 2020 version of Kia’s seven-seat SUV
The next-generation Kia Sorento has been spied with minimal camouflage, revealing a revamped interior and an exterior influenced by the Kia’s vast Telluride SUV.
Due to reach UK showrooms this year, the fourth-generation Sorento (leaked by @CocheSpias instgram account) retains the brand’s trademark “tiger nose” grille, but has gained boxier dimensions with vertical rear lights reminiscent of the US market Telluride. There’s also new LED headlights, a more steeply raked roofline and redesigned tailgate.

In an attempt to move the Sorento upmarket, the interior gets plenty of chrome and piano-black plastic. There’s a touchscreen – likely the same 10.25inch one taken from the Soul EV – and mood lighting.

The new Sorento model will feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain for the first time. The hybrid powertrain will likely comprise a four-cylinder petrol engine mated to an electric motor and an automatic gearbox. As with its predecessor, we expect a diesel engine to be offered with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The new model will be offered as a seven-seater, making it Kia’s flagship SUV in the UK. It’ll remain a rival for models like the Hyundai Santa Fe and Skoda Kodiaq.
